FOCUS AREAS
Approach
The EU-India Digital Policy Dialogue is anchored in the work of the EU-India Trade and Technology Council (TTC), Working Group 1 on strategic technologies, digital governance, and connectivity. This ensures that cooperation remains targeted, coherent, and relevant to both regions' long-term digital ambitions.
To create meaningful and lasting impact, the EU-India Digital Policy Dialogue follows a collaborative and forward-looking approach towards advancing shared digital priorities. It focuses on:
Advancing sustainable digital development across priority areas
The initiative supports global modernisation efforts for the EU, its Member States, and India, in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the Paris Agreement on climate change.
Boosting shared priorities through institutional collaboration
The Dialogue helps to deliver the Global Gateway strategy, which aims to boost smart, clean, and secure links in the digital, energy and transport sector and to strengthen health, education, and research systems across the world.
Inclusive stakeholder engagement
The initiative’s multi-stakeholder approach includes regular consultation meetings (with industry and thinktanks alike), technical and knowledge exchanges, interactions with subject experts and the organisation of roundtables and workshops. These activities reinforce the Team Europe approach and deepen EU-India digital cooperation.
