Digital Chai Chat

Ahead of the EU–India TTC Business Forum 2026, the May Digital Chai Chat convened EU Member States for a focused exchange on India’s evolving semiconductor ecosystem and opportunities for deeper EU–India cooperation.

The discussion, moderated by Purva Soni, featured insights from Mr Ashok Chandak, President of the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association, and Dr Manish Kumar Hooda, Director (Technology) at the India Semiconductor Mission. The session examined India’s policy priorities, recent ecosystem developments and the direction of travel from ISM 1.0 towards ISM 2.0. Participants also reflected on potential areas for cooperation, including research and development, critical minerals, talent mobility, research partnerships and industry engagement. The exchange reinforced a shared recognition that semiconductor resilience depends on trusted, ecosystem-wide collaboration across governments, industry, research institutions, start-ups and talent networks.
